Through his service he has cultivated skills in subjects including regulatory compliance, policy, governance, Human Resources, and project management.
Civil Litigation Experience
Dustin had the honour of working as a program manager for a leading non-profit organization where her served an unprecedented number of low – and middle-income clients with civil litigation needs and wills and estates planning from offices within the Vancouver Law Courts.
In this role, Dustin met with thousands of people facing difficult legal problems and learned how to obtain practical results quickly and strategically. Dustin utilized a wide variety of civil procedures and presented record numbers of applications, where he has appeared before roughly 75% of the currently appointed Justices of the Supreme Court of British Columbia.
Dustin has an unusually high success rate, and his strategy in obtaining this is simple - be collegial, be honest, and deal with your opponent’s best arguments by representing them clearly and charitably.
While working in this position, Dustin had the privilege of working with many of the brightest minds in the Vancouver legal community where he learned invaluable legal knowledge and skills.
Private Practice
Dustin was fortunate to join his undergraduate business law and non-profit management professor, Gerald Palmer, at his law practice in historic downtown Abbotsford, where he now practices civil litigation. Dustin is humbled to join Gerry, and the other lawyers at the firm Downtown Abby Lawyers LLP. The firm is dedicated to offering affordable legal services without sacrificing the quality of service and attention that have allowed him to obtain a high success rate.
